Glass Marble Making (1 Day)

Glass marbles fascinate us all, and have done so since childhood. In all likelihood, all the marbles we played with as children were made by machine. To make them for yourself at the torch, however, is one of the most satisfying of all lampworking techniques.

This one-day class will introduce the techniques and tools used in basic marble-making. Using soft glass, we will look at surface decorated marbles, and clear, internally decorated styles. You will need some previous lampworking experience to get the most from this class – the skills required to make well-shaped, simple beads decorated with stringer, twisty and dot patterns will be sufficient. The class is one-to-one, so you can be sure of continuous attention and guidance.

Class times: 10.00 – 16:30

Fee: £170

A deposit of 10% is payable on booking.
